A Journey through Consciousness - Facing Alpha Nemesis - BiMonthly Log #13 (no video) - 01.04.2024 - 31.04.2024 (exception: Monthly update)


THOUGH THIS LOOKS LIKE A SMALL LIST OF CHANGES...

1. I took a lot more spare time this month, since I really needed it, I felt super tired and had holidays, so I enjoyed some spare time.

2. Many of the changes took way more time than I anticipated, partly due to me trying them tired, in some cases, however, as usual till now, each challenge was dealt with successfully.

Part of the changes written below. Some were either forgotten or weren't necessarily worth mentioning.


01 - 30.04.2024

<> Rearranged the map again, visually, allowing for more space, removing a few redundant walls. Several such rearrangements were performed, the final version has walls and doors, as well as Region IDs.

<> Corrected further map tile-related issues.

<> Corrected the code regarding the four fires that can be thrown at player by Clone X.

<> Changed Clone X ability from throwing all 4 fires in a line to throwing 1 at a time at player.

 > Reduced this ability's CD from 7 / 6 / 5 to 4 / 3 / 2 (Difficulty based).

<> Iron WIll (Favor) corrected its effect description by removing the "Ends after trigger" part.

<> Corrected a mistype for Nora's Protection (Favor).

<> Created 4 new desert-oriented foes that will spawn in a group. Creating their corresponding skill sets. Finalised.

<> Toggled the Proximity Compass to not appear by default, preventing its appearance every time game tests would occur, making sure that it's not gonna be the first thing player will see. :)

<> Solved a few mistakes regarding the 2 initial Dialogue Events.

<> Created a third Dialogue Event that starts after the 2nd, and fixed all the issues regarding the event chaining.

<> Removed the encounter with Alpha Nemesis and her clones (the real-time encounter) due to events not triggering correctly (using events as projectiles isn't the best thing here).

<> Created an inventory system (coding will be arranged later).

<> Created the prerequisites of an Inventory system for player.

<> Moved the first 100 Common Events lower, leaving these spaces for the Picture Common Events plugin.

<> Continuing the removal of redundant global switches and variables, replacing them with properties where possible.

<> Created properties for characters' Potions.

<> Created a 1st and 2nd Furniture Interaction Events. Fixed all their issues.

<> Fixed all issues regarding the Dialogue Events, including the one that didn't trigger the final part.

<> Rearranging the Potion Crafting for player (the Poison Potions to be used against Alpha Nemesis).

 > Mainly the recipe will stay the same, more or less. Preparing for the implementation (finalised its recipe).

 > Changed name of "Serum of Soul Cremation" into "Serum of Essence Cremation".

 > Final recipe will only be for Poison of Banishment, the other 2 major Poisons are now parts of this.

 > Created properties for each of the new Poison of Banishment materials and added them in game.

<> Added 2 new tileset pictures to the roster, "desertkingdom" and "glass" (Kokoro Reflections).

<> Started working on the chaser AI for any character that the player will bump into on the first map (6 are planned to be in a group).

 > These initial engage characters will serve as the first combat the player will face against, as well as a Combat Tutorial.

<> Crimson Denial (Obstruction) also applies Dora's Forsight (Debuff). Simplified effect description of "Sabotage" (Distortion).
